Diamond Valley Lodge - an exciting new venue in Sage
As most of you know, the Diamond Valley Golf Course, located on Old Sage Rd (off of Cactus Valley) permanently closed last year, and has been sitting vacant for quite some time. During this time, the property has fallen into a state of complete detritus and become a mecca for illegal activity that has been bleeding out into the surrounding area.
We are excited to announce that the property is now under new ownership.
The new owners, local to Southern California, are renovating the property, cleaning up the surrounding area, and clearing out criminal activity in preparation to open a local wedding and event venue that will also house beautiful gardens, a restaurant, and serve as home to white tigers.
The new proprietors have been busy reaching out to Sage Town Hall Association and local residents in an attempt to truly become engaged with the community. They have gone above and beyond to address every concern that neighboring properties, and the community at large, may have.
A few of the key points in our conversations have been addressing some of the same concerns that many of us had with the proposed Diamond Valley Estates project; such as traffic, noise pollution, zoning issues, and water usage. We are happy to report that Sage Town Hall Association, as of this point, sees no red flags or cause for concerns with the project plans, and we view this as a very positive addition to our area. Traffic and noise will be nominal, as most events will be booked on the weekends (many indoors), and the guest count at these events will be on par with those that most of us have attended at local Temecula Wineries. As CEO Rob Curtis notes of weekday traffic, "We will have some day visitors, that will likely consist of a few animal lovers and Moms bringing out their children to have a slice of pie and see the animals each day. Occasionally, we may have a school bus or two full of students visiting us for a wildlife conservation and education tour. We truly think that our neighbors will enjoy having this experience nearby and hope to see you here with your loved ones!"
Water usage for this venue will be a fraction of what was consumed by the prior tenants. While the golf course watered an astounding 140 acres from our underground water supply, Diamond Valley Lodge will only be using water to cover a footprint of approximately 10 - 15 acres! They will be significantly more water wise than the golf course,
The only zoning changes that will need to be made will be to rezone from low density residential and open space/recreation to NA or "Natural Assets", which means that they are allowed to keep animals permanently housed on the property.
We feel that Diamond Valley Lodge will be an incredible asset to our community. We are excited to have venue owners that are going above and beyond to create an ongoing dialogue on how to become active participants in enhancing what Sage has to offer.
More details can be found in the member email to be sent June 23rd.
To close, we leave you with these words from owner Rob Curtis, "Our team is willing to invest in Sage economically, socially and through solid community support. ..The Jungle Tech Group and Diamond Valley Lodge Team are genuinely looking to bring an uplifting presence to Sage and something that you can be proud of when family and friends visit. We welcome any discussions or questions that you may have and hope that you will support us in our efforts to bring something really special to the area."
